The Old Madison Pike side of Madison is the established east end of the city, between Hughes Road and the Huntsville line, built around Dublin Park. The city’s comprehensive plan treats the Old Madison Pike corridor as one of its Key Development Areas and says it has seen the least growth of any of them since 2010. Its direction for the area is infill and redevelopment that fits the neighborhoods already there.

Where it is
For this guide the area runs east from Hughes Road to the city limit near Slaughter Road, and north from the Madison Boulevard corridor to Eastview Drive, with Old Madison Pike running east and west through the middle. It is in Madison County and ZIP code 35758. OpenStreetMap names several older places here, among them Brentwood, Clift Acres and Nolan Hills.
The plan notes that traffic on most city streets grew slowly in the five years before it was written, but Old Madison Pike was an exception. It says the vacant land on the south side of the pike, zoned for commercial and multifamily use, is the area’s biggest chance for new building, and lists that stretch as Key Opportunity Area 1. The plan also describes a “checkerboard” boundary between Madison and Huntsville, so check which city a parcel is in.
