Where it is
Town Madison lies between I-565 to the north and the land around Huntsville International Airport to the south, west of Zierdt Road, in Madison County and ZIP code 35758. Town Madison Boulevard runs through it from exit 10.
The comprehensive plan, adopted Feb. 20, 2025, split the old South of I-565/East Madison Boulevard planning area in two and made Town Madison its own Key Development Area, saying it was “actively under construction” and its development pattern “essentially fixed.” The plan says apartment building in Madison in 2022 and 2023 “far exceeded historical patterns” because of Town Madison, with 957 units completed, while fewer than 210 detached houses were completed in each of those years citywide. The plan’s examples of newer houses, photographed in Town Madison, add Craftsman styling on smaller lots, with more sidewalks and alley access.
The city plans to move Fire Station No. 4 from 400 Celtic Drive to a permanent site in Town Madison, as part of a public safety annex with a police substation, according to the plan, which says the move will improve response times in southeast Madison. It also points to a future park at the old quarry nearby.
