Gifts downtown

Historic downtown Madison’s independent shops include Barefield’s of Madison, Blue Apple Books, Favorite Things, Lemon & Lavender, Madison Station Antiques, Noble Passage and South & Pine, according to Main Street Madison’s directory. Each shop sets its own hours.

Gardens and outings

Huntsville Botanical Garden, 4747 Bob Wallace Ave. SW in Huntsville, opens its Purdy Butterfly House for the warm months. In 2026 the butterfly house ran from April 22, open 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sundays, according to the garden’s butterfly house hours. Garden hours change with the seasons; check the visit page.

Toyota Field. The Trash Pandas host the Birmingham Barons from Tuesday, May 4, to Saturday, May 8, the end of a 12-game homestand, according to the team’s 2027 schedule. Game times and promotions will be announced later.
